    Description

    The item for sale is a nice microscope objective, although the name of the manufacturer is not engraved on it. The lens has a 4X magnification and a 0.1 numerical aperture. The engraving on the lens indicates that it is designed for a 160mm tube length and cover glass thickness can vary. As measured, the parfocal distance was 45mm, which confirms to the DIN specification, and is the same as most West German Carl Zeiss objectives. The lens is in good condition optically with surfaces that show no obvious signs of scratches, failing lens cement, fungal growth, or other problems, even when examined under the microscope. Tests with an actual microscope, produced very nice images of the slide under examination. Cosmetically the lens is fair to good condition with a black painted finish that is in pretty good condition. Please examine the photographs carefully for further information about the cosmetic condition.
