Vintage 1980's Wooden Block Knife Storage 8 Slots plus Sharpener - Block Only

This butcher block knife holder was not just for kitchen decor.  It was hand picked by a chef who owned his own restaurant.  This block was just as important to him as his knives, a needed tool.  There are eight knife slots, the two largest being able to hold a blade that is 2" wide and 10" long.  There is also an extra slot down the right side that held his knife sharpener.  The overall dimensions are 9" high x 5" wide x 10 1/2" long.  Has rubber feet on the bottom, and weighs in at 7 pounds. There is a narrow crack on the left side in the front (see pics), does not appear to go very deep.  There is no brand on this, just a sticker on the bottom that says Made in Thailand.  I also don't know the type of wood, there's a lot of color variation.  There is also a little bit of a splinter on one edge (see pic) that does not affect its use.  A lot of history in this piece, I wish I still had the knives.
